Morton’s Neuroma
Morton’s Neuroma is when the nerve between the third and fourth toes becomes thickened or swollen and affects the ball of your foot. Morton’s neuroma causes and individual to feel as if they are standing on a small pebble and may feel sharp or burning pains. The tissue around the nerves leading to the toes becomes thickened often due to the toes being squeezed together for too long commonly from women’s high heels. High heels, rock climbing, and foot deformities are risk factors for Morton’s neuroma.
