Repetitive Strain Injury

A repetitive strain injury is commonly a result from doing repeated physical movements and overuse of muscles, nerves, tendons, and soft tissue. Many times a repetitive strain injury damages these areas in the body and are commonly found in the hands, arms, and shoulders, but can occur several places in the body. There are a wide range of occupations where repetitive strain injuries can occur, anywhere from cooking, to a construction, to a musician. In early stages of an RSI symptoms may disappear when you stop the activity, but over time this can cause chronic pain. Prevention and/or early treatment is key!

Natural/ Non-surgical Muscle strain Treatment

We use the following approaches to relieve muscle strain symptoms:

  • ASTR® Tools: Our doctors use a variety of ASTR® tools to release scar tissue and myofascial restriction, which can decrease flexibility and add more pressure on the strained muscle.
  • Special exercise program to decrease pressure on the foot, strengthen the muscles, stabilize the strained muscle and help the patient to return to normal function and activities.
  • Special instructions on how to speed up the recovery time.
  • Cold Laser Therapy: Tissue inflammation and inability of the body to heal are common with arthritis. Cold laser is used in order to decrease inflammation that causes pressure on the injured area.
