Scar Tissue

In order for our body to repair any damage it creates scar tissue (fibrosis). Scar tissue helps rebuild any damage to the tissue to make it stronger in order for it to heal.

Damage to the scar tissue can occur several different ways such as:

  • Injury
  • Stress
  • Disease
  • Surgery
  • Accidents
  • Prolonged poor posture
  • Improper body mechanics.

After our bodies have healed and the damage is repaired, the scare tissue is then reabsorbed back into the body. Although this is the normal healing process, there can be disturbances such as excessive inflammation, too much scar tissue formed and/or not enough recovery time. Having excessive scar tissue not being removed can cause more damage like compressing muscles , blood vessels, nerves and organs.

Scar Tissue Symptoms

This can lead to other symptoms like:

  • Dull, aching pain
  • Stiffness in a joint
  • Muscle tightness
  • Muscle spasms
  • Tenderness of a muscle to touch
  • Limited range of motion
  • Numbers or tingling sensations

Scar Tissue Treatment

At the Center For Advanced Soft Tissue Release, trained ASTR clinicians use patented tools that are specially designed to efficiently break up and remove scar tissue without causing added pain or stress to the body to help advance the natural healing process.
