Tension & Cervicogenic Headache
Tension headaches are the most common type of headache associated with tightness of the soft tissue in the head, neck and shoulders. Tension headaches could be releated to poor posture, stress, depression, anxiety or head injury. Tension headaches are usually experienced on both sides of the head. Tension headaches usually start at the back of the head and spread to the front. Tension headaches may occur when head and neck muscles become tense. The muscle tension may be as result of stress, anxiety, depression, and/or head injury. Advanced Soft Tissue Release, developed by Dr. Jacobs/ specialist (patent pending), is a very gentle, effective and natural approach to treating tension headaches.
Tension Headache Symptoms:
These are some tension headache symptoms
- Dull / aching pressure
- A tight band on the head

Tension Headache Causes:

Migraine Headaches are the second most common headache and often occur with other symptoms such as nausea and change in vision. Throbbing or pounding head pain is usally associated with migraines and can take place on one side of the head. Individuals who suffer from migraine headaches can be sensitive to light or noise and may experience "aura," which is a group of visual symptoms just before the headache attack.
According to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, about 12 % of the U.S population suffers from migraines headaches. Migraine headaches occur 3 times more often in females than males. The World Health Organization considers migraine headaches one of the 20 most disabling medical illnesses in the world. Migraine headaches can occur with an aura, which can be followed by visual symptoms without auras. Patients who have migraine headaches may suffer from sleep disturbance, anxiety and depression.
Migraine Headache Symptoms:
These are some of the symptoms of migraine headaches:
- Pounding, pulsating, or throbbing pain
- Migraine may begin on one side of the head and spread to the other side or stay on one side
- Intense pain around the sides of the forehead
- Vomiting and nausea
- Vertigo, dizziness or lightheadedness
- Visual disturbances such as blurred vision, temporarily blind spots, flashing lights
- Sensitivity to noise, light and/ or movement
- Body parts may feel weak, tingly or numb
