Causes of TMJ Disorders

These are some of the most common causes for TMJ disorders

  • Teeth grinding and clenching
  • Repetitive strain injury
  • Arthritis
  • Genetics
  • Jaw injury form trauma and/ or accident
  • Braces/ dental procedures
  • Auto-immune diseases

In many cases TMJ disorders occur from a combination of a number of the causes mentioned above. In some cases the cause of TMJ disorders are unknown.

 
  • Patient avoided hip surgery.

  • Patient avoided back surgery.

  • This newborn came in unable to move his neck from the side position. He suffered from torticollis, severe neck and back spasms. After just 1 ASTR treatment, he had complete range of motion.
