Thoughts on Back Pain:
The minute you feel pain in your back, it is important to seek medical attention. There are many reasons for back pain; sometimes the pain is acute or chronic. It is important to address these issues so that you don’t have permanent neurological damage. Doctor Jacobs specializes in the treatment of back pain.
When to seek help for back pain:
Once an individual falls down or has an injury, they must reach out to a medical professional/specialist. If they put it off, they could experience more serious issues. Oftentimes, people experience back pain after working out too much, lifting heavy objects, etc. If you experience any of the following, please seek medical attention: achy feeling in the legs or back, numbness or tingling in the arms, legs or back, if you have fever or if you cannot control your bladder, seek help. Patients who experience any pain that is shooting down their body, arms, legs, back, neck, please call for help. Anyone taking pain meds call for help.
For acute patients who do not believe that the pain they are experiencing constitutes a visit to the emergency room, please go to a comfortable place and lay down. The pain may come from overexerting yourself, working out too much or straining your back. It is important to lay in a comfortable position and place a pillow under your knees to support your back. Make sure your knees are at a 90 degree angle and make sure that the rest of your body is supported; including your neck.
When diagnosing your condition, the pain treatment doctor/specialist at Reliant Physical Therapy Pain Relief Center will obtain a detailed history and perform a physical exam. They will strive to identify the source of your pain, in order to provide an accurate treatment plan and pain management.
